Like the real model, the plastic orange tree also needs special protection during cold seasons. Persistent cold and frost can cause the trunk or branches to crack and the leaves to peel off easily.

You can remedy this either by wrapping your textile orange tree in an old burlap bag, or, like the gardeners era, simply placing the orange tree in a sheltered place.

The decorative orange tree should also not be permanently exposed to rain and wind. Here too, it can happen that branches are torn off. It is best to find a place protected from the elements for your plant, such as a covered terrace (crossdoor).

What sets the false orange tree apart from the real orange tree is its sensitivity to sunlight. While the real orange tree needs a lot of sun, the false tree can lose its colour.
